Acceptance Form

Please read the following Terms and Conditions for working with Lanie Sign Language Services, then complete and submit the Acceptance Form.

I accept the Terms and Conditions for working with Lanie Sign Language Services and understand that submission of this form shall serve as the contract.

Rates & Coverage

  • $130.00 initial fee (covers up to two hours)
    • $50.00 per hour thereafter

  • Rates for other interpreters provided by Lanie Sign Language Services will be determined on an individual basis.  Assignments over two hours long generally require a second interpreter. In the event that I cannot personally cover a request, or that I need a co-interpreter, I can personally arrange for another interpreter or provide you with referrals.

Exceptions and Additional Fees

Differential rates for platform, legal, deaf-blind (tactile), or otherwise more demanding assignments will be negotiated at the time a request is made. Concerts and performance are negotiated per assignment and not per hour.

Cancellations and No-Shows

• Jobs scheduled for Monday need to be cancelled by the Thursday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Tuesday need to cancelled by the Friday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Wednesday need to cancelled by the Friday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Thursday need to cancelled by the Monday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Friday need to cancelled by the Tuesday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Saturday need to cancelled by the Wednesday prior to the assignment.
• Jobs scheduled for Sunday need to cancelled by the Thursday prior to the assignment.

Assignments extending more than two days in length, which are cancelled according to the chart, will only be charged for two days. No-Shows are billed without exception.

Travel outside of the Metro DC area

Assignments requiring more than 2.5 hours of driving or more than 150 miles will be negotiated at a day rate. Expenses for travel and lodging will be reimbursed at cost.

Reimbursable Charges

I do not charge for mileage, parking, tolls, trains, or metro. However, if I contract other interpreters for your assignment these charges may apply and will be negotiated at the time of contract.

Inclement Weather Policy

I have taken effort to ensure that I am prepared to handle all manner of inclement weather. I will cancel without cost only when a weather emergency has been officially declared by the local authorities. Cancellations made by a client due to inclement weather will be billed unless otherwise negotiated.

Payment Terms

Net 30 days from the invoice date. Invoices not paid within 30 days will be assessed an additional 5%, on day 31, and an additional 5% for each 15 day period thereafter that payment is late. Lanie Sign Language Services also accepts payment via Mastercard and VISA.

Mindy Lanie's professional ASL interpreting services are subject to scheduling availability. Mindy Lanie reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.
